HIGH SCHOOL NEW & NOTES
8/30/11:  The High School season is now in it's third week and there have been plenty of surprises throughout.  Hoosierfutbol.com has followed the action closely and listed daily scores and weekly rankings to help keep fans up around the state.
In girls Class AA, #1 Carmel remained undefeated at 5-0-0 after dispatching  two ranked Ft. Wayne teams, 2-0 #18 Bishop Dwenger and 6-0 over then #20 Snider.  #2 Hamilton S.E. remained strong knocking off township rival Fishers, 3-1 running their record to 3-0-1. Seven teams around the state remained perfect through last week, #3 Evansville Memorial (3-0-0), #6 Columbus North (5-0-0), #7 New Palestine (4-0-0), #10 FW Carroll (3-0-0), #19 Crown Point (3-0-0), new #20 Mooresville (3-0-0) and unranked Warsaw (4-0-0). In total there are 7 schools from the Hoosier Crossroads Conference ranked in the top 25.

In girls Class A, five teams remained perfect after two weeks.  #2 Batesville (3-0-0), #3 Providence (6-0-0), #6 Heritage Hills (5-0-0), #9 Sheridan (5-0-0) and #23 Eastern (Greentown) (4-0-0) are the remaining perfect teams ranked in class A.  Providence has only conceded two goals and both were penalty kicks. Batesville has also only conceded 2 goals in 3 games.  #1 West Lafayette lost to crosstown rival McCutcheon on Monday night, 2-1.

Boys Class AA has featured some great games so far this season.  Nine teams have a perfect record after two weeks in Class AA. #1 Evansville Mmeorial (2-0-0), #2 North Central (3-0-0), #3 Carmel (2-0-0), upstart #6 Center Grove (6-0-0), #7 Chesterton (4-0-0), #8 Washington (4-0-0), #12 Concord (6-0-0) and #24 Mt. Vernon (Fortville) (4-0-0) all stand perfect on the season.

In boys Class A action, Canterbury might be one of the top 3 teams in the state, not just the new #1 in class A.  Canterbury (2-1-2) knocked off then #9AA Homestead (5-1), drew with #11AA FW Carroll (1-1) and blanked the always tough FW Snider Panthers (5-0).
#2 Gibson Southern (5-0-1) moved up two spots this week with their draw against honorable mention Evansville Harrison in Class AA, 1-1.
#17 Hammond Bishop Noll head coach Armando Garza picked up his 100th win when his team knocked off mighty Munster, 2-1.
#21 Jac-Cen-Del (4-0-0), #23 Washington Catholic (6-0-0), and #25 Hamilton Heights (4-0-0) make their first appearance in the rankings with perfect records.
